This web page acknowledges allegiance to the Supreme Assembly, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, whose seat of authority is in McAlester, Oklahoma, of which Reverend W. Mark Sexson was the founder and Mrs. Marie Renda  (2006-2008) is Supreme Worthy Advisor, and to the Grand Jurisdiction of Texas of which Mrs. Marlene Dibrell, is our Supreme Deputy, and Sister Shelley Ashcraft (2007-2008) is our Grand Worthy Advisor.

History:

The assembly was sponsored by the Weatherford Chapter No. 21, Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Annie Mae Hatcheft, Worthy Matron appointed the Advisory Board. The first organizational meeting was held on February 23, 1946. Assembly meetings were to be held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7:30pm in the Phoenix Masonic Lodge at 102 Oak Street, Weatherford, Texas. The Letter Temporary was issued on March 7, 1946 by Mrs. Laura J. Nelson, Supreme Worthy Advisor. On April 1, 1946 the advisory board approved 40 petitions for the degrees. The board appointed the first core of officers with Elizabeth Hubbard as Worthy Advisor and Mrs.
Mellie Massey as Mother Advisor. On April 8, 1946 the assembly was instituted by Mrs. Martha Marie Whitfield, Supreme Deputy in Texas and the first core of officers were installed to serve a 5 month term.

The assembly was constituted on September 10, 1948 by Mrs. Martha Made Whitfield, Supreme Deputy in Texas. The first Grand Appointment was Miss Nancy Gracy who was appointed Grand Fidelity at the Grand Assembly session in June, 1954. At the 1955 Grand Assembly session held in El Paso she was elected to serve as Grand Treasurer of Grand Assembly for 1955-1956.

During the following years there were several Grand Appointments. At the 1992 Grand Assembly session in Dallas/Fort Worth, Miss Cindy Ensminger was appointed Grand Immortality and the following year was elected Grand Hope. She served as Grand Worthy Advisor of Grand Assembly during the 1996-1997 term. The assembly has had 5 Grand Floor appointments, 14 Grand Representative appointments and 8 Junior Member of Grand Committee appointments. The assembly had at least 100 active members a year for the first 20 years, filling all offices and having a large choir. It has had the honor of having 126 Rainbow girls and Members of the Advisory Board receive the Grand Cross of Color Degree. The assembly met at 102 Oak Street until 1988 when Phoenix Masonic Lodge built a new building at 1009 Palo Pinto Street.  The assembly is currently meeting on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at 10:30am.
